Named after its address at 1000 8th Avenue in Fort Worth’s Southside area, 1K8 is a modern response to Fort Worth South’s Development Standards. Required by zoning to be two stories, the second story has become a prominent feature of the building in an attempt to create a desirable and visible office location. The building’s site, though small, is raised above the adjacent street and visible from several blocks away. Pedestrian traffic is invited onto the shady plaza. Parking to the west is concealed from the street but meets the standards for restaurant use.
