Lamar University Music Building

Texas State University System

Beaumont, TX

Higher Ed

The music building renovation included a complete replacement of a multi-functional performance hall, a band/orchestra hall, classrooms, practice rooms, instruction labs and a department chair office suite. A 135-seat performance hall is the featured space in the building designed to meet the differing needs of music performances, choir rehearsal and lectures. The hall features a main seating bowl, which is supplemented by a fixed-riser system behind the performance area which also serves as seating for choral rehearsal and overflow seating. The performance hall is equipped with a variable acoustical system, a sound system and three different sets of projectors and projection screens servicing the different seating areas. An end-grain mesquite wood floor provides a durable yet elegant finish.
