Brown Selected as Fort Worth Business Press' 40 Under 40

Fort Worth, Texas - VLK Principal, Lauren Brown was chosen as one of Fort Worth Business Press' 40 Under 40, which is an event that celebrates 40 young professionals who have excelled in their respective fields. Nominations are submitted in January and selected honorees are chosen based on their career accomplishments, community involvement, and promise of continued future success. 40 Under 40 winners will be honored at an awards ceremony on April 18th at the Cendera Center.

At 35, Brown has shown dedication to her career at VLK Architects by starting as a college intern in 2000. From there, she quickly progressed to Project Coordinator, Project Architect, Project Director, and was recently promoted to the role of Principal. Brown is a thought leader and expert in her craft, specializing in science and research environmental design with a commitment to uphold the goals of her clients, above all else.

In addition to her career accomplishments, Brown's list of community trusteeship includes being nominated to Leadership Grand Prairie, and is an avid supporter of local nonprofits such as SafeHaven of Tarrant County and Tarrant Area Food Bank. She was also co-chair for the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Education Foundation's CAD, design, and drafting competition.

"Lauren continues to be an exceptional symbol of VLK in her work ethic, leadership, and never-ending pursuit of excellence in her projects. She is an excellent peer amongst her co-workers and mentor to her project team members," said VLK Partner, Sloan Harris. "She gladly will run the least glamorous renovation project as she would any flagship project and, by her own volition, serves the firm as our expert in environmental design for science and research facilities. If you are looking for an example of how to make an impact at VLK, in your career, and as a community trustee, look at Lauren."
