Garland, Hill, and Troqe named VLK Senior Associates

(Fort Worth, Texas) VLK Architects proudly announces Scott Garland, Lee Hill, and Erjon Troqe are promoted to Senior Associate positions. Senior Associates have significant experience and qualifications and are self-motivated leaders who consistently take the initiative and use their capabilities, talent, and commitment to assume significant leadership roles. These dedicated individuals constantly serve and demonstrate the importance of participation in the community, making their professional and personal contributions to national organizations and meaningful industry causes.

Scott Garland, LEED® AP - With more than 18 years of architectural experience, Scott Garland is a seasoned project director who delivers precise, creative, and client-focused solutions across a diverse range of commercial market segments, including senior living, multi-family housing, retail, commercial office, and automotive dealership facilities.

“Scott has been an incredible presence in our office. He’s passionate about his projects and his clients, and his enthusiasm is contagious for the team working with him and for him,” said Jim Stephenson, VLK Principal.

Garland received his Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology. He joined VLK in 2021 where his personality, extensive experience, and excellent communication skills have made great contributions to VLK’s projects and office culture.

Lee Hill, AIA - As Project Director, Hill leads VLK project teams and all consultants in creating the contract documents necessary for permitting and constructing the building. He brings decades of experience managing large teams and understands how to make appropriate, efficient decisions to deliver projects that exceed client expectations.

“Lee has had a transformative impact on his teammates by his mentorship,” said Lauren Brown, VLK Principal. “He is integral in the development of staff and projects. He balances his talents of art and architecture inside and outside of the firm which has garnered the respect of colleagues and art enthusiast alike.”

Hill earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Texas Tech University. He joined VLK in 2020, and despite the virtual state of our business at the time, he flourished with his positive influence across all his projects. He takes the time to mentor and teach Emerging Professionals, project teams, and our clients and offers great insight to the practice of architecture, which impacts everyone he interacts with. Outside of the office, Hill is also an accomplished contemporary painter and writes for Texas Architect Magazine about noted local architecture projects.

Erjon Troqe, Associate AIA - As Project Designer, Troqe leads the design process of a project from preliminary planning through design development and oversees the implementation of design throughout the construction documents and construction administration phase. Projects such as the Bill R. Johnson CTE Center in Crowley ISD, the Baillargeon Rooftop Terrace, the new Eagle Mountain High School in Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD, and Bobby Summers Middle School in Royse City ISD are all hallmark examples of the level of design Troqe delivers on behalf of the firm.

“Erjon exhibits a passion for design that is infectious,” said Lauren Brown, VLK Principal. “He imparts his knowledge and depth of understanding of building system integration with architecture with clients and peers that is seamless in approach.”

Troqe earned both his Bachelor of Architecture Master of Urban Planning & Design degrees from Polytechnic University of Tirana. He joined VLK in 2013 and has consistently shown commitment to improving our practice through his mentoring efforts and exploration of optimal solutions for all things.
