Haley Thurston Named as VLK Architects' Associate

Fort Worth, Texas- VLK Architects proudly announces the appointment of Haley Thurston as new Associate. Thurston has proven to be an expert in her field and has demonstrated an unwavering dedication to the mission and values of VLK.

To become Associate, individuals must be self-motivated and consistently demonstrate the initiative, talent, and commitment of assuming additional responsibilities and leadership roles. They also must show exceptional understanding of the many facets of the architectural practice, develop and strengthen relationships with our clients and business associates, guide and enhance the development of staff, and contribute to the advancement of the firm through innovative ideas and efforts. At VLK, we value our employees and realize that they are our single greatest asset. In appreciation of that, we strive to provide a work environment that fosters professional development and allows our staff to excel in the practice of architecture.

Thurston joined VLK in 2015 and has made a significant impact with the interior design of many of VLK Architects’ flagship and award winning projects including the Allen STEAM Center, the renovations of Allen High School, the Baillargeon Penthouse Roof-Top Terrace, the American Paint Horse Association Office, and Steelhead Capital Management. She holds a B.S. in Interior Design from the University of Cincinnati and is a registered interior designer through the NCIDQ (National Council for Interior Design Qualification) and TBAE (Texas Board of Architectural Examiners). She is a member of the International Interior Design Association, the Real Estate Council of Greater Fort Worth, and a very active member of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women), serving on the YWLA Committee and as the co-chair of the organization’s Partnership Committee. Additionally, Haley has been instrumental in building VLK’s Interior Architecture practice.

“The future of our firm relies heavily on the creative talent and commitment of leaders within the firm like Haley,” said Sloan Harris, VLK Partner. “Haley’s independent work ethic, initiative, and commitment to the firm and our clients has made this a very easy decision for us.”
