New Year; New School for Shepton High School

Plano, Texas – On August 13th, Plano ISD celebrated the first day of school at the newly renovated Shepton High School, a 253,657 sf campus that serves over 1,400 students in grades nine and 10.

The upgrades to Shepton High School include extensive renovations to approximately 91,425 sf of existing academic, administration, fine arts, library, kitchen, cafeteria, and storage areas. These renovations include architectural, structural, food service, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical disciplines. Other upgrades to the campus include improved interior building circulation and separate bus, student, and parent traffic areas outside the school.

The additions to the facility cover 26,915 sf and include a main entrance, administration, band, dance, and classroom areas. With these additions, a new front door elevation and main entry with a secured vestibule lead to the administration area. A new student commons area was added, equipped with technology and operable partitions, creating flexible spaces for students to gather. The updated Shepton High School also has new multi-purpose classrooms and large group areas satisfying the district’s need for collaboration spaces, project based learning areas, and a large presentation space.

“We are ecstatic about our stunning campus and the pride that this brings to our students, parents, staff, and community!” said Jeff Banner, Shepton High School Principal
