Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD Eagle Mountain High School
In north Fort Worth, Eagle Mountain-Saginaw ISD recently unveiled its fourth comprehensive high school for 2,400 students. The school’s design, shaped through collaborative sessions with students, staff, and administration, prioritizes integrating the natural surroundings to enhance the learning environments. Embracing the district’s educational objectives and commitment to sustainable design, the campus features innovative spaces that foster student-centered learning both indoors and outdoors.
Notably, the campus showcases a transformed pond and creek, now serving as central elements. The pond, now holding 37 million gallons of water sourced from rain and irrigation wells, serves as a sustainable irrigation source. The architectural layout includes a unique academic building nestled into the landscape, with a striking two-story facade at the entrance and a three-story structure facing the courtyard. A captivating skybridge spanning 100 feet offers a seamless connection filled with natural light and picturesque views of the surrounding landscape.
One of the standout features, based on student feedback, is in the library- a cherished space for decompression, study, and contemplation. Positioned at the academic wing-skybridge junction, the multistory library offers a tree house-like experience, overlooking the courtyard and creek, providing students with a tranquil and inspiring setting for learning and reflection.

The campus is nestled into the site’s challenging topography to reduce the massing of the campus creating a more appropriate scale for students and staff. All classrooms feature natural light and 85% of rooms have direct views to the outdoors. The library provides a variety of learning environments and a bistro for social gatherings. The high school’s stadium will be nestled into a natural “bowl” feature on the site, creating a collegiate sports atmosphere.
