VLK Headquarters

To accommodate meteoric growth in its Fort Worth headquarters, VLK relocated its offices to a building of its own design. VLK chose a walkable site in Fort Worth’s Near Southside neighborhood, complete with an existing 1920s-era building and adjacent, new construction. The historic building is home to restaurants and residential lofts and the new buildings offer office, retail, and restaurant spaces. The VLK offices were designed using its own services of VLK | ANALYTICS and VLK | LAUNCH® to quantify employee’s work patterns and proximity needs as well as capture stakeholder voices to inform the design. The result is an open, flexible environment that provides spaces for different types of working styles and collaboration needs. The heart of the office is the Living Room, a welcoming expanse of a lobby, filled with natural light, comfortable seating, and panoramic views of the Fort Worth skyline — even featuring a gas fireplace for the firm’s monthly Fireside Chats. The rest of the office balances space for modern, private workstations, focus rooms, huddle rooms, and conference rooms to allow employees to seamlessly transition between desired environments. Specialty spaces accommodate unique needs, such as XD’s requirement of a white seamless studio for video production, interior designers’ need for a materials library, and hot desks for visitors from VLK’s other offices.
