VLK joined White Settlement ISD (WSISD) in celebrating the Brewer Middle School Super Ribbon Smash event, marking the completion of the campus’s 2022 bond projects: a sixth-grade center, competition gym, cafetorium, and fine arts expansion. The celebration featured speeches expressing gratitude to community voters, performances from the BMS band and cheerleaders, recognition of the national spelling bee champion, and self-guided tours of the updated campus.

In May 2022, WSISD voters approved a bond package to address the district’s rapid and projected enrollment growth. The bond was developed by a Long-Range Facilities Planning Committee of more than 50 parents, students, educators, business leaders, and community members who, over three months, toured campuses, reviewed demographic studies, and evaluated district finances and facility needs. Updates at Brewer Middle School include improvements to the stadium, track, and athletic facilities (completed in 2022), as well as the recently finished two-story Sixth Grade Center with 32 classrooms, a new competition gym, a fine arts expansion with a band hall addition and renovated choir room, a cafetorium addition and renovation with seating for 2,000, and safety and security upgrades.

Completed in spring 2025, the new Sixth Grade Center has quickly become a pivotal feature of the Brewer Middle School campus. The Center eases the transition from elementary to middle school by giving sixth graders earlier access to athletics, fine arts, and career and technical education (CTE). With shared staffing across grade levels, students benefit from expanded Fine Arts, Pre-Athletic, and CTE opportunities, along with more flexible scheduling that supports both academic and social development. This early exposure helps students discover their interests, balance classroom and extracurricular commitments, and build a strong foundation for success in middle school and high school.

“The transformation of Brewer Middle School is more than just new walls and facilities—it represents a generational investment in White Settlement ISD,” said Lauren Brown, Principal at VLK. “These spaces will inspire and support students for decades to come, strengthening the heartbeat of this community. VLK is honored to stand beside the district in this rebirth and proud to help shape a campus that reflects both the spirit and future of White Settlement ISD.”

The additions and renovations at Brewer Middle School were celebrated with strong community support, reflecting pride in the successful bond passage and its impact. These projects position White Settlement ISD to meet the needs of future generations with facilities designed to grow alongside the community.
