“Both my father and mother dedicated their careers to public education, and their work profoundly influenced my passion for educational architecture,” said Trey Laird, Principal at VLK Architects. “Witnessing the transformative impact education had on individuals’ lives through their efforts inspired me greatly. I feel incredibly fortunate to be a part of the VLK team, where our aim is to create spaces that cultivate engagement and foster collaboration among students, empowering them to expand their knowledge as well as their emotional growth and well-being.”

With nearly 30 years of expertise in educational architecture, Trey brings leadership skills, client-service orientation, and passion for public schools to every project. Laird earned a Bachelor of Environmental Design and Master of Architecture from Texas A&M University. He is known for his ability to build and sustain long-lasting client relationships while consistently delivering forward-thinking projects.
