VLK Architects Announces New Principal, David Valerius

VLK Architects is proud to announce the addition of David Valerius as Principal in the VLK Houston office. Valerius joins VLK with more than 30 years of architectural experience in the educational and commercial sectors.

Valerius received his Bachelor of Architecture at Texas Tech University. Throughout his career, Valerius has been known for his ability to lead teams and build consensus among diverse stakeholders on projects. David is passionate about planning, developing, and delivering major facility construction and renovation projects.

“David has had a long career in the Houston K-12 education market, and we are excited to welcome him to VLK,” said Todd Lien, VLK Architects Managing Partner. “His knowledge and experience from the perspective of the architect as well as from working on the owner’s side of the fence makes him a great addition to our firm.”

Valerius has worked on numerous educational projects with a number of school districts, including Spring Branch ISD, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, Fort Bend ISD, and Santa Fe ISD, among others.

“I have a passion for designing learning environments, and for me joining VLK, a longtime leader and innovator in the K-12 space, feels like a natural fit for me,” says Valerius. “I’ve always valued building lasting relationships throughout my career and that is a cornerstone of VLK’s philosophy.”
