VLK’s Chief Operations Officer Named to the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners

VLK Architects is proud to announce Justin Hiles, Chief Operations Officer, has been appointed by Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas Board of Architectural Examiners (TBAE).

The TBAE is the regulatory agency that oversees the examination, registration, and professional regulation of architects, interior designers, and landscape architects for the state of Texas. The board consists of nine members appointed by the Governor of Texas and approved by the Senate. Justin's role on the board will involve contributing to the oversight of ethical standards, maintaining continuing education requirements, and the overall advancement of architecture in Texas.

As an advocate for licensure in architecture, I am eager to contribute to shaping the future of our profession and ensuring excellence in architectural practice across the great state of Texas."

With over 20 years of experience at VLK Architects, Justin has been instrumental in the growth and success of the firm. Throughout his career at VLK, he has played a significant role in multiple award-winning projects such as the Arlington ISD Dan Dipert Career + Technical Center, Denton ISD’s Braswell High School, and Keller ISD’s Timber Creek High School. In addition to his role at VLK, Justin has served as president and treasurer for the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Institute of Architects as well as a member of the Association for Learning Environments, and the National Council of Architecture Registration Boards.
