VLK’s Lee Hill Awarded James R. Wooten Service Award by AIA Fort Worth
On Saturday, February 25th, the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Institute of Architects celebrated the 2022 Honor Awards. These annual awards are given to various members, projects, individuals, and groups for their outstanding achievement and exemplary services to their communities. VLK Architects is proud to announce Lee Hill as the 2022 James R. Wooten Service Award recipient.
“It’s a pleasure and an honor to receive the AIA Fort Worth 2022 James R. Wooten Service Award,” said Lee Hill. “Since joining in 1997, it has been my pleasure to have served for many years on the Executive Board and other committees and as President in 2011. With the involvement of a new generation of architects, I am confident that AIA Fort Worth will continue to be a vital part of the Fort Worth professional community helping to create better living and working environments.”
The James R. Wooton Service Award is presented to members who exemplify the characteristics of sustained, consistent, and effective service. Hill has been a long-standing member of the AIA Fort Worth chapter for over 25 years. His history with AIA includes his seven years of service to the executive board in which he became president in 2011. He has also served on the Honors Awards, Design Awards, and Fort Worth Homes Tour committees as well as on the Education Committee at TSA in 2012.
With 35 years of experience, Hill currently serves as Senior Associate and Project Director at VLK Architects. He is also a published author in the Texas Architects Magazine as well as an abstract artist represented by the William Campbell Gallery.
