Denton High School is the latest educational keystone for this fast-growing and dynamic community. Students and teachers will thrive in adaptable learning spaces designed to support both personalized learning and collaboration. Located on a 150-acre master planned site, the design concept was realized through the VLK | LAUNCH® community stakeholder engagement process. The focal point of the school is a “Ring of Legacy” featuring a timeline of the 134-year-old original high school campus, which has been developed through our VLK | Pixel™ brand discovery process. The campus features an 800-seat theater that anchors the fine arts area, while athletics programs will be showcased in a 1,900-seat competition gymnasium and outdoor competition and practice venues.
"We wanted to carry on the theme apparent throughout the city of Denton of design symmetry that draws you into the building. The team at VLK Architects allowed us to drive them around and show them some of this unique architecture. In a couple of years, when you walk into this building, you will see these elements incorporated in the design of Denton High School."
Joel Hays Principal, Denton High School
