Purple Heart Elementary School

Socorro Independent School District - El Paso, TX

Located adjacent to Fort Bliss, Purple Heart Elementary was named to honor the military families of El Paso. The idea that college begins in kindergarten led the district to gibe students experience in all subject areas of House Bill 5, which include STEM, business and industry, art and humanities, and public service. The district challenged us to design a building featuring adaptable spaces for a variety of instruction styles in a modern learning environment. Learning areas were designed to embrace the district's "open and transparent" instructional method featuring collaborative classrooms with operable walls to create a variety of instructional settings. This project was completed in association with GA Architects.
