The Keller High School additions and renovations project established a secure and distinctive main entry to the building, an element lost on the original building after decades of small additions. The classroom wing and interior renovations also allows the campus to cluster blocks of rooms, provide flexible spaces and student group work areas to support each department. Tiered seating of the cafeteria provides more flexibility, natural light, and greater capacity for dining use and other campus functions. The inclusion of a new performance and student group work area adds tiered lecture seating that is ideal for presentations and performances. New administration space consolidates numerous functions into a single area, increasing the efficiency of both the space and staff. A new band and orchestra addition was designed with large opera areas, practice rooms and storage areas.
"VLK did a masterful job of facilitating conversations to engage all stakeholders to be thoughtful in the renovations for Keller High School. The charrette challenged our assumptions and allowed us to develop a unified vision for our school."Dr. Michael Nasra Principal, Keller High School
