VLK Announces New Leadership Promotions

Fort Worth, Texas- VLK Architects proudly announces promotions for Linsy Grozdanich to Senior Associate and Monika Castillo to Associate. These promotions are in response to their outstanding leadership and service exemplified within the firm and for our clients. To receive this recognition, they must be self-motivated, consistently demonstrating initiative, talent, and commitment to assuming additional responsibilities, and leadership roles. They must also show an exceptional understanding of the many facets of the architectural practice and business, develop and strengthen relationships with our clients and business associates, guide and enhance the development of staff, and contribute to the advancement of the firm through innovative ideas and efforts.

Linsy Grozdanich

Linsy joined the firm in 1998 in an administrative support role in the business office. She advanced very rapidly, taking on the responsibility of managing the firm's entire business function. With a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from University of Texas at Arlington, Linsy has led VLK's accounting effort to its highly advanced digital platform of today. She has also been an essential voice in the development and oversight of our benefits and human resources.

'Through her ingenuity, she has developed and transferred vast amounts of data into our database of information that can report profitability, fee structures, labor burden, and historical costs," said VLK Partner, Leesa Vardeman. 'She is the backbone of our financial organization, constantly improving efficiency and performance."

Monika Castillo

Monika joined VLK in 2007 as an experienced architectural intern working on a part time basis, but quickly became a project coordinator who proved to be a real asset to the VLK team. With a Bachelor of Architecture and a Bachelor of Structural Engineering from the University of Houston, she has always taken on the responsibility of being a leader not only to her project team but to the entire office by possessing a 'whatever it takes to get the job done' attitude, even if it meant writing specs, assisting with construction administration or mentoring others.

"She has worked on notable projects such as Long Elementary School- Brazosport ISD and Katy Elementary School No. 40- Katy ISD," said VLK Partner, Todd Lien. 'She has gained the trust and respect of our most valued clients in the Houston office as well as those that work with her on a daily basis, truly dedicated to making us all better at what we do!'
