VLK Architects Receives TASB "Stand Up for Texas Public Schools" Recognition

Fort Worth, Texas – On August 12th, VLK Architects was presented with a certificate for the Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Stand Up for Texas Public Schools recognition program at the Klein ISD Board of Trustees meeting. VLK was nominated by Klein ISD for the support the firm has given to the district’s Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs over the last few years.

Over the years, we have been able to participate in many fabulous opportunities that the district creates to benefit students. The recognition of this honor is tremendous, and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Klein ISD.”  

Exhibiting a strong dedication to Texas public schools and the communities in which they serve, VLK Architects has participated in numerous events with Klein ISD and was nominated in June of 2018 for the TASB Stand Up for Texas Public Schools recognition program. Multiple representatives from VLK Architects have served Klein ISD in the following activities: Klein ISD Career and Technical Education Advisory Council, speakers for the Doerre Intermediate “Explore Your Purpose” Day, participation in an expert endorsement panel discussion on the Klein ISD 2nd Annual Pathway Summit at Klein Cain High School, and attendance at numerous Klein Collins Events. Most notably, VLK representatives have served as industry mentors for the student-led Klein ISD “Water Warriors Day or Design” Innovation Challenge, which assisted over 275 teams, 1,800 students, and 125 faculty advisors with designing and testing a flood barrier to hypothetically fight floods in the community.
