VLK Architects Joins CarSquad in their Expansion to Texas
On February 17, 2023, VLK Architects celebrated the grand opening of the first CarSquad location in Texas. Located at the corner of Interstate 10 and Grand Parkway in Katy, Texas, this project includes a new 21,000 square-foot sales facility with adjacent detailing area on a 15-acre site designed to hold 1,500 used vehicles in inventory.
"We are proud to partner with CarSquad on their first location in Texas," said VLK Project Director, Scott Garland. "We are eager to see this facility become one of the largest car dealership stores in the Houston area with an enhanced buying and selling experience for customers.”
CarSquad, sister brand of Off Lease Only, is a pre-owned dealership offering customers the opportunity to buy, sell, or trade pre-owned vehicles online or on the lot with the guidance of experts advising customers through their decisions. The design process for this project included intensive programming and circulation studies with the owner to establish a new sales facility prototype that will act as the basis for future projects as CarSquad continues their expansion plan.
This prototype includes large entry portals into the building leading to the open sales-floor with collaborative kiosks where associates help customers search inventory. The new location also includes a unique test drive area with extensive shaded outdoor spaces with a 40’x 60’ U.S. and Texas flag flying 150’-0” above the site.
